# A test said sent, but no email arrived

**Test email sent successfully!** means the send transport reported success; it does not confirm that the email reached the
inbox. Check these items in order:

1. **Check Email Simulation Mode.** If the message is marked **Simulated** in Email Logs, BooleanSMTP recorded it instead of
sending it. Turn off **Email Simulation Mode** in **Settings → Testing & Content** and send another test.
2. **Check the log status.** **Failed** or **Pending** means the send did not complete normally. Follow
   [the email-not-sending steps](/docs/troubleshooting/email-not-sending/).
3. **Check spam.** A successful log entry confirms the transport reported success. Check the spam folder, then use your
provider's message log, if it has one, to see what happened next.
4. **Check domain authentication.** Missing SPF or DKIM records can cause receiving servers to distrust a message. See
your mailer's setup guide for the provider's instructions.

For a guided diagnosis, use the [interactive “nothing arrived?” checks](/docs/learn/nothing-arrived/). They walk through the
same likely causes one question at a time.
