Send WordPress email through SMTP.com

SMTP.com is one of the oldest dedicated email delivery services, with a focus on deliverability support for businesses that send transactional mail at scale.

How BooleanSMTP sends through SMTP.com

Through the Custom SMTP connection

In BooleanSMTP, add a mailer, choose Custom SMTP, and enter SMTP.com’s SMTP server below with your SMTP.com SMTP login. Logging, the fallback, retries and alerts work exactly as they do for every other connection.

Username
The login of a sender (Manage Senders, in your SMTP.com account)
Password
That sender’s password, not your API key

SMTP.com gives each account its own server name: it is in your account activation email.

Before you connect

Create a sender (channel) in SMTP.com for your domain, and have the SMTP credentials for it ready.

Pair it with a fallback

A second provider as the fallback covers a changed sender password or a paused sender.

When SMTP.com refuses a message, BooleanSMTP tries your fallback connection at once, logs which one delivered it, and alerts you on Slack, Discord or Telegram only if every attempt fails. See the whole path

What SMTP.com receives

Only what sending needs: each message (recipients, subject, body, headers, attachments) and the credentials you enter for the connection, sent to SMTP.com when WordPress sends an email. BooleanSMTP stores those credentials encrypted in your own database. Read SMTP.com’s terms and privacy policy.
